About the Author

Nicole Marie Herring is a redhead and a writer. She specializes in creating fantasy stories with clever and courageous heroines who overcome challenges to become their true selves, inspiring readers to do the same. She currently lives on the west coast of Canada where she runs Red Herring Books with her ever-supportive and dragon-fearing husband. She is working on her first novel.

What I Write

I primarily write fantasy stories with strong female leads, since that is what I enjoy reading the most.

Growing up, I read a lot of books about girl warriors. I wanted to be a lady knight and live a grand adventure and fight against injustice. Since I started writing, my stories often involve strong female protagonists who are courageous and triumphant.

My stories also tend to involve a large proportion of redheads (since I love being one), as well as interesting geography and healing relationships.

I write stories that impact people the way I was impacted.
